Which small "lite" trailers are lightest? Are there certain brands that are known for being super light? I've been checking around on-line and am surprised to see that many that are called "lite" are still over 5000 GVWR. We are looking for something short (18-21 feet) that is about 4000 GVWR or less.

Also, it seems like most of what we're seeing have two double beds that are converted from the couch and from the dinette. Are there any small light TTs that have a queen bed that you don't have to convert from something else?

Thank you,
Rae-Ann

Lots of opinions out there about which ultra lites are better than others. I'll simply offer that we are very pleased with our FunFinder. Ours (the x-210) has a queen but is on the upper eand of your size and weight scale. You might look at the 189 model. Anyway, here's a link and you can explore the options from this one comapny:

our 20DBB Starcraft left the factory less than 3000 Pds. It has a dinette that turns into a bed, a bunk bed, and a double bed in the back. We are close to 3500 pds when we are packed and ready to go.
good luck!

Check out Forest Rivers' Rockwood Ultralites and Minilites. They also make the Flagstaffs and Surveyors, which have the same floor plans.

We wanted a smaller trailer with lots of windows and a bed that didn't convert, and couldn't really find one. We did end up with a Flagstaff "Classic Super Lite." It's not light, but then it's a 34' trailer, and its weight compared with other trailers of that size is lower, mostly due to an aluminum frame (instead of wood), and a low CCC (cargo carrying capacity) for the size.

If you don't mind sleeping under tentage or setting up a bed (though not converting it from a dinette, just folding it down), look into the hybrid trailers. They have a lot of space, especially if you get one with a side slideout, and their towing length is that of a smaller trailer. The Starcraft Travelstar/Antigua twins or Rockwood Roos are generally good examples.

We have a Starcraft 24 FQB that we are very pleased with.
3570 Dry and I figure around 4200 ready for the road.
It has a Short Queen in the front but its not a walk around, also a dinette and 2 bunks in the back. No couch but it's the sacrifice we made to get in to a not so small Lite TT

You may be able to find something you like in one of the expandables. These are kind of a cross between a traditional TT and a hybrid where the bed (which is usually in the rear) slides out like a hybrid but it has hard sides like a traditional slideout. Some models may have beds on each end. I do know that Rockwood makes an expandable unit but I am not sure on the specs.

We have a 21" Gulfstream Amerilite that has a queen size bed with room to walk around on both sides. I believe the "dry" weight is reported at 3215 pounds, with a net carrying capacity of 1125 for a total of approximately 4300 pounds. We (so far) are extremely pleased with our "little home". Hope this helps.

Two of the lightest 21' TT"s are the Trail Cruiser LE series 21RBH and the Trail-Sport 21RBH.Both are R-Vision products and each weights 2903Lbs.dry.We like the HUGE dinette that converts to a queen up front and the large storage area aft with the twin bed folded up.Good luck shopping.

I would have to look at some of the little fiberglass trailers. The Casita come to mind.
