Our cat brought in field mice at night after we'd go to bed, but he didn't kill them first. He'd bring them in and let them go, then chase them around the house for awhile. We'd lay in bed just waiting for the game to end, and that awful "crunch" he'd make as he did it in. We'd find a pile of perfectly laid out head and innards in the morning somewhere in the house! Oh, how we wish he'd bring them to us already dead!

Came home late one night to find miss kitty sitting on our dresser, bedroom window screen on the floor. Thought nothing of it till we heard scratching under our bed. Got the flash light, She had brought in a full size rabbit and let it go. She was upset that we finally caught it and put it out. Windows were never left open after that.

Darn cat has brought in live chippies before too. He likes to chase them in the house where they have less chance of escaping. You can imagine the chaos that occurs when you bring a live rodent into a house with 2 rat terriers..... still I prefer the live ones to the dead one! At least he didn't take a bite out before he deposited it in the bed.
I've used blood meal to keep kitties out of my flower pots and garden. You can buy it a any nursery store and probably WalMart as well. It smells alot like moth balls so it may have some of the same ingredients.

My two indoor cats have been very helpful in a number of campgrounds over the past 15 months that we have been fulltiming: about 3 different places we got mice in the motorhome, always at night. As you can imagine they didn't last long. Fortunately, the cats had no interest in them for food and just left them on the floor for us after they killed them, playing with them, I suspect. I know where they get in: around the gas pedal, not exactly a place I can use that spray foam stuff that hardens like a rock. So we'll keep the kitties.

We had a mouse in our RV on a camping trip in Utah. The dog (rat terrier) was going nuts in the middle of the night, whining and scratching at the kitchen drawers. I finally got her to lay down after an hour whining (at 2AM). I told her she was imagining things.....
Next morning I got up to make coffee, pulled the drawer open, and there was a big fat mouse staring at me. The bRat terrier quickly dispatched it. If I would have opened the drawer for her at 2AM like she wanted, my packages of ramen noodles would have still been intact. Now when she gets crazy like that, we know there's a mouse in the house (or the RV).
We've not taken the cats in the RV though. They go to my son's house when we travel. They are too active at night so we'd never get any sleep on a trip.
