OK, there is a 300 site CG next to my workplace. Last week we stayed for 3 nights, had very short commute. Sure, it isn't time off, but to come back to the site and immediately be in vaca mode is sweet.
Back in RI our favorite place would fill early Friday and no reservations, so I would go after work on Wds or Thurs, depending on what weekends were coming up and set up, then commute to work from there on my motorcycle. Win Win. After work, I am on the beach. In the AM a nice 35 mile winding thru the country commute.
Have to take advantage of any and all situations..

You go girl! This is my idea of camping. I did the tent thing one time and one time only! It met my expectations, it was HORRIBLE! RV'ing is the way to go.
Ooohhh, I know what you mean! We got the bug this spring when we bought our "new to us" MH. I camped in a pop up as a child, but love the RV life. My DH can retire any day, but I've got many years. It sure is hard to pull out of the driveway, past our MH and go to work everyday! We are camping (ok, RVing) every other weekend....and we love it. Thanks to everyone on this board who helped make our dream a reality and fun to boot!

The first night out in our first "RV" was a revelation. It started raining and we were snug in our cabover camper and awoke to see the tent campers scrambling to stuff all their stuff into their hatchback. I am one to think basic and rugged is cool but, at 53, having a "rolling apartment" is tough to beat.
