Question: Is it normal for the areas where the slide assembly is bolted together, for the bolts to puncture the seals?

Just completed our second trip with our new Sprinter 311BHS; pulled in the driveway and the slides wouldn't open; they seemed stuck. Normally the couch/table slide opens first then the bunkroom in back. Finally they opened, but the bunk slide opened first and then the couch slide. Hubby inspected the outside to see why it might be sticking.

In several areas (mostly corners) the bolts are poking through the seals and have scratched the surface of the trailer, you can see where they are rubbing through the finish. I'm assuming from the motion of travel. Not sure if this would cause the slide to stick?

Naturally the tt is under warranty. I want to wait till we are done camping this season before we take it to the dealer because I don't want our camping plans wrecked. Is there any risk waiting, causing more severe damage?

What happens if this repeats in future years, once the tt is out of warranty?

I haven't noticed the bolts through the seals on mine, I will check that tomorrow. There is not a said order for the front or rear slides to go in or out. Mine got air in the line once and they would go out together or apart. I only had on time when my slide wouldn't go out, I made a quick look inside and noticed that the linen closet door had came open and was stopping the slide. My Keystone 311BHS is now 1 year old. The first year it stayed in the shop many times. I found that Keystones quality is pretty poor. Luckly I got everything repaired under warranty. Dont wait too long to get the repairs done, you may have more of them than you expect. A few of mine- TV, outside radius panel, bathroom wall panel, entire front cap, new set of tires, window shade supports, drawer slide brackets. I must say that Keystone always worked with me on getting my repairs taken care of and we really like our camper.

We already had the trailer back to the dealer to fix the TV when the bracket came off the wall during our first trip. Our dealer is 90 minutes away and I'm not real anxious to take it there again, before our next trip in 3 weeks. I'm afraid there will be a delay or something and we won't get it back in time.

What was wrong with your tires?

The tires were China made Milestars, they started seperating after about 1 month. Keystone allowed me $90.00 a tire, they had a big recall. It was a big hassel because we had a trip planned, I had to do all of the leg work. Take the tires off and take them to get them changed out. I went back with Maxxis, I had to pay about $50.00 out of my pocket. Does your table fit correctly when your dinette is in the bed position? They had to work on mine, seems it is a design flaw, they may have corrected it by now.

Yes, I think I had seen an earlier post of yours about that table issue and we made sure during our PDI that it fit properly.

This is a strange question but does the finish on your toilet scratch off? Seems like a manu-defect that the paint is scratching off, where the seat rubs and also in the back. I feel sorta silly complaining about little things like that...

My bunk slide has always gone out first. The only issue i have with the slide is coming in it pauses half way through. The finish on my toilet has been fine.I too had the tires replaced but keystone paid a local dealer to change and balance them.

My toilet is fine also. Dont feel bad about the the little things. For the price that we pay for these units there should be nothing wrong with them. Make sure that all of your blinds have the bottom catches on them, check all of your drawers for broken slide brackets. Every one of mine broke, they said that they had bought a bad batch of them from a vendor.

My bunk slide always went out first also, until my lines got air in them. I called the dealer they told me that there is no certain order for them to go out. After the dealer ran my slide in and out about 10 times, the air was gone and the slides operated normal again. I had to do all of my tire work because I had a trip planned the same week and the dealer couldn't do it.

What do you mean by it pauses half way through? My dealer told me also that either slide will go first or whatever, and that the lighter one will generally go first. I have posted on this, but incase you haven't seen it, my slides throw the breaker coming in. They both start to come, then the little one stops. The big one continues until all the way in, then the little one starts again. But before I get them all the way in the breaker will pop, and then reset itself at least twice. It's never done it putting them out. As far as the original question, which seals are you talking about? The big one's that drag the side and top of the slide, or the little ones attached to the slide itself. I have seen a tiny hole in the top corner of the little seals that are attached to the slide. It looks as if something is behind it and puctured it when it closes tight. Also on mine when it is closed those same seals look to be smushed tighter at the top, and barly pressed near the bottom. Is that normal?
