I will probably be getting a f450 and hauling a 16000- 19000lb trailer with about a 3000 lb hitch weight. Is there one brand of hitch that may be better than others?

My trailer scales around 17,500 with a 4,000 pin.
I really like my Reese Signature Series 24K.

Everybody will tell you that theirs is the best. Personally I have not seen two cents difference in any of them. I like mine because there is adjustments for slack in the pin and that I can locate the handle so I can close my cover. As for the 3000 pin weight? Who's guess is that? A 19000 GVWR fiver will have a pin weight right around 4000 pounds not 3000 pounds. So be very careful to pick a hitch with sufficient capacity.

Most major brand name 5W hitches with adequate weight rating will be good. But I would be sure to pick one of them that you can get excellent service from local dealer in your area and/or the manufacturer. A good nearby dealer is a must. And a hitch that will remove easily and completely from truck bed.

If short bed, I can recommend the Pullrite Superglide. Can't beat the convenience for a slide hitch. And I like the jaw system they use, in the Superglide or Super 5th hitches.

I to use a Pull rite superfifth hitch. 20K. I picked it because of the jaw locking mechanism. I pull 14,000lbs with 3000# hitch weight. Its a heavy unit to remove from the truck, but mine stays installed all summer and only comes out in the winter. No problems, love it.
