Our LP Detector keeps going off and I am unable to find a leak. It just started this about a month ago on a trip. The RV is always plugged it and was plugged in when the problem first started. Now, it goes off constantly. I heard that a low battery will make it beep off and on. This is one continuous Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep. Just like you would imagine it would sound if it detected LP gas. The light is also red and the detector will reset if you open up the camper and air it out and then reset it. I can smell nothing. I know that other gases can also make it go off. Just in case this is important...the 12V converter now always hums as if it is ... converting? Even though nothing is on but the LP detector and whatever else you can't turn off.
Also, I pulled the fuse that is in the panel listed for the LP detector. It didn't even make it blink. It kept on blaring away. Would this mean that it was never wired to the fuse box and how would I know? If this is the case, what would I need to do?
Thanks for you help,
Teddy

I had mine start doing the same thing. I installed a new one and no problems since. It's been over a year now.
I just shut off the main 12V switch to cut power to mine and installed the new one.
With nothing on the inverter could still be buzzing if it's charging the batteries.

Any chance the battery is boiling, and its fumes are getting in?

The LP Detector is on a 2002 model. I guess it's possible that it is going bad. If I can find no other reason, I will replace it. I just want to make sure that there is nothing being detected. I left the fan (A/C fan) on yesterday while I was at work and the detector didn't go off at all. Not only was the air moving around some, but it was much cooler in the TH even with just the fan running. It started this right when the hot weather hit. (just FYI) I will check the battery to see if it is boiling, but I don't think that it is. What about pulling the fuse not having any effect on the detector?

Must be wired to a different circuit. Pull the fuses one by one and see if any take it out. Wouldn't be the first time I've seen circuits mislabeled.

My LP has it's own battery backup in case of power outage so pulling fuses would just put it on battery power.
