Has anyone ever installed one of these on their rig? We are having trouble with the water heater (Atwood GC-10A-2) going out when the flame turns off. Not just blowing out.

I was wondering if this will really work and does anyone have real world experience with it?

Thanks
Missy

never seen one for 12volt. i am sure it could be done. might I suggest you write a bit more about the issue. it looks like you are a 10 gal does it have a standing pilot or is electronic (dsi)? if its dsi it tries 3 times and then fails. these are pretty good units and should perform well.

It is not 12V. It is actually powered by a 9v battery. Here is a photo of what I am talking about.

Every once in a while, when the burner has heated the water and then turns off, the pilot blows out. We can have heavy winds and it is okay but goes out when turning off.

It has a standing pilot, not dsi....sigh. It does run on electric as long as no one turns it off at the switch.. :-)

I just was not sure about this item and no one at any rv shop can tell me anything except that they sell them... (are we surprised?)

I have one on my water heater and it works great. Also, saves having to find a match to lite it, just flip the switch (powered by a 9 volt battery) and turn the gas control to pilot and PUFF, the pilots' lit. I have used it 3 years now and have had only a few times the pilot failed to re-lite after it had been blown out.

I have sold several of the units and the people that I have talked to later loved them. They seem to work pretty good.
