What a cool Idea...A convertable 5er. What will they think of next.

WOW! I now feel just a LITTLE bit better for backing mine under the basketball rim and putting a cut in my roof. Thank the Lord for Eternabond!

I was going to say pop up 5er. Is there such a thing?

Amen to that...! Or it was definitely built on the cheap...one or the other, (couldn't see a brand).
Does the book "The Next Exit" come to mind?

(wow!...what if this is a 5er. that a private party rented out)?..

It looks like a Sandpiper bunkhouse model. I didn't know that it came with a retractable roof option!!

Maybe he knew what he was doing. Do they "forclose" on fivers or just "repo"?

The fiver in these pictures is the same exact unit as mine, I can make out the logo in the second picture and all of the roof vents, bunks, slides, etc match up to mine. They are well built. This guy must have been distracted, I use caution when I go through trees that are low.

I bet that is the quickest that guy ever stopped. My fiver has the extra air in front which makes it sit 13' 4" tall. Mama is, well, going through the change and needs to sleep in 50 degree temps. I am very careful when I am on the side roads and going near any bridges. I don't like sitting that tall but I know what is best for me.

One of my biggest fears. As close as I can figure my unit, at the hightest point, measures 13' 3". I believe the federal rules for the interstate system is 13' 6". I just hope that I don't hit a bump under an overpass that's built right to specs! Near my house is an old one lane railroad bridge I must go under going and coming from my house. The sign over it says 13' 6", I still pucker whenever I go under it.

There's usually some fudge factor built into those clearances, so I wouldn't worry about it if the sign says you can clear it.

They have to allow some extra room for snow and ice build-up in the northern climes.

I've always wondered whether they remembered to change the clearance signs when they repaved and added six inches of fresh asphault on the roadway.

around here when i have watched them pave the highways they dont just add more blacktop under overpasses. they mill it down then add the fresh blacktop. otherwise there would be alot of signs to change and a lot of pissed off truckers.

This should be shown to the next person who askes if it's okay to let people ride in the trailer.
