The Hunting/game cameras are great, some have good night visibility and most have internal power sources. If you put it in a visible area your next thread will be who stole my camera

Forgot to mention. If you plan to use those 2.4Gh camera's, check to see if anyone in your area is also using one. Tried to use mine attached to my TV in an RV park in Florida but kept getting video feed from an RV about 200 foot away. He had his WalMart camera aimed to the empty site across from his MH and the power output would not allow my receiver to get anything other than his video.

Upon returning from our two hundred mile trip I noticed that one of the four pins that holds the fifth wheel hitch in place had worked its way out and was missing the cotter pin.
Awning unlocked and unscrewed knobs are easy to do if you get distracted or are in a hurry. Knobs can loosen themselves and even fall out if they're only marginally snug.
As for the pin, that's a weird thing for someone to be messing with. I've heard of people pulling the 5th wheel latch to let you pull forward and drop the trailer into the bed. Did you check to verify it was secure and pinned properly prior to departure?
Pre departure and arrival checklists are good things.

Grew up on a farm and they will get your attention, however no permanet damage. I made one out of a 12 volt car coil once and just hooked it to a 12 volt battery on a small charger. Tested it out by touching the wire where it terminated after about a mile run.
Darn near curled my toes!!

There is a Spy Store on Niagara Falls Blvd., Amherst, NY (just outside Buffalo). They have all kinds of neat stuff that you can touch and play with before buying. Surprised you don't have one on the west coast too.

I wasn't towing at the time, but came out of the grocery store and thought my hitch looked 'different', sure enough, someone had pulled the clip off and taken the hitch pin - thankfully not the ball/riser, etc. I feel for your irritation.
