We just bought a new Pace Arrow 38P. On the way home we had electrical problems and the lights would flicker and at one point after pulling over the coach wouldn't even start. To add to that the drivers side slide out would come out about and inch every 20 miles and then I would put it back in. Once I got home called the dealer and they said to take it to a workhorse dealership to get the electrical problem fixed, but the unit would not crank over. So I went and bought a new battery and it seemed to fix it, so I thought. I loaded up the motorhome for our first trip this past weekend and the thing stoped twice on our destination which was only 65 miles up the road. Once we got there putting in the slide and trying to keep it running, we found that the rear a/c doesn't get cold and the generator works half the time. After looking over the coach I found many other problems that seem to be very obvious... Did I get a lemon coach or are all of these Class A's like this? This thing has 723 miles on it and 400 of them were on it at the dealer, It is parked in a storage facility because I didn't want it to break down on the highway....What Gives!

No, not all Class A's are like that and lets hope that you do not have a "lemon". What king of warranty did it come with? Did you not road test it? When I bought my Journey, my dealer gave me a free CG certificate and told me if there were any problems to bring it back. I think I would be pounding on someone's door asking them to fix the faults.

Take this with the spirit intended: I doubt you have a lemon. Any MH or RV for the most part is in large part a big hobby. You performed a good thorough 4 to 6 hour PDI and thorough test drive at the time of delivery before signing any paper's didn't you? And assuming you did, why did you drive your new MH off the lot with these kinds of problems?

Unfortunately your problems are not unheard of. Now that you have the problems hopefully once they are all identified you can have them fixed and they will stay fixed. If not check on the lemon laws in your state. Hopefully you have a responsive and otherwise good dealer.

Gosh, sorry you are going through this. On my last new coach I had 2 full pages of warranty issues BEFORE I took delivery. Then after the first trip I had 3 pages of stuff. A couple of thoughts, the problems you are having are the dealerships. I would have made them come pick up the coach and let them take it where ever for repairs. I would make them reimburse you for the new battery and any storage fees. Hold their feet to the fire, you just spent a lot of money with them and THEY need to make everything right.
Good luck, it gets better.

To the extent you are having problems I doubt all new owners experience same. However, I do believe that there are issues to be corrected on any coach once it gets into the hands of the new owner. Some major, some minor.
As you read the threads here you'll find many folks talking about the importance of the pre-delivery walkthrough. Here is were a lot of the issues are discovered and resolved before you accept the coach. Not all will be found then. It could take months and thousands of miles to resolve issues to your satisfaction.
I believe a coach family has to be willing to understand how their rig operates mechanically to a certain degree. There should also be a willingness to diagnose problems to help the dealer perform their job better. This is no different than owning a home. We learn to maintain and fix things out of necessity.
To your electrical issue, you didn't state if you took the coach to the dealer after you replaced the battery. The battery is only one component of the electrical system. I'm sure the dealer would have checked the charging system as well. If not that there are a myriad of other items that the dealer would do to diagnose the problem. Most of them fairly simple.
Good luck with your coach. I'm sure once you get all of the issues resolved you'll have years and miles of fun.

Just be glad it's under warranty....
Most of those issues sound like fairly simple stuff believe it or not.
You will have to get it back to the dealer however.. Hopefully NOT via tow truck
Re the battery.. Try running the generator.. Some modern coaches that will charge both house and coach battery.. NOTE that this is an EMERGENCY measure, not a long term solution, but just so you can "limp" to the dealer.
Unless.. Of course.. the Workhorse center fixed that problem.
Nothin adds excitment like something that is none of your business

Buying an RV is not like buying a car....you've probably already figured this out. And you probably did not know to do a thorough PDI before you left the lot.....Many of us that have bought new have had many items to be repaired under warranty and they are usually minor but tiresome...your electrical problem could just be a loose connection. Keep a good and complete list of all your problems and make sure to check each and every item before you leave the lot after the dealer says they are fixed....you will be surprised at how many will have to be re- worked. Be diligent and eventually the rig will become more fun and less frustrating...

From reading here for about a year I know you guys are not just pulling SWM' leg but still knowing if you buy new it can take up to two years before you can get trouble free use sounds strange.
I expect all of these issues were known after the first 400 miles unless that was just the delivery guy's miles but still he could have let the list of issues that suffered.
I assume some of you bought new and have not had issues that forced you park?
Since most still look like new and can be had for about half after two years just to buy new seems expensive and a headache.
I was told by a dispatcher with a major line that their new tractors could not be counted on until after 20K miles.

From the problems you have described, I do not see how your RV made it from the factory. I have owned several new motorhomes over the years and have not had the magnitude of problems you have described. Be sure and keep a detailed list of all the issues you encounter and if they were resolved to your satisfaction. Be prepared to play hardball with your dealer if you have to. Good luck, Ronnie
