Planning our trip to the Poconos from Charlotte NC. We've driven this before, but am looking for alternate route(s). I was thinking about taking rte 29 to 15 thru Gettysburg before jumping on 22 near Harrisburg. Has anyone traveled this route/area before? Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.
BTW we'll be towing our 03 B-19 with our minivan. Yes we've driven to Pa before with this set-up and has done great. Just looking to stay away from 81 if possible. What do ya think?!
If you have a lot of time on your hands and desire to see alot of small town USA, go for it. If not, take the old route. Depending on when you hit the area between Warrenton, VA and Gettysburg, PA on route 29/15, you could be sitting in a lot of traffic as this area is quickly become new suburban area for DC.
