same here, keep it around 60-62 or so, get 10 or 11 mpg, if I try and keep it at 70 or have a real bad head wind, it drops to 7 or 8 mpg.

I really haven't done any long-distance traveling yet, but plan on 55mph as my prime cruising speed, or the posted speed limit, whichever is slowest.

I drive a Jeep Liberty 120 miles a day round trip to work. Running 73 MPH and accelerating normal I average right around 20 MPG. I slowed down to 65 MPH and keep my RPM's under 2500 on acceleration and now get right at 25 MPG.
I haven't really changed my driving habits while towing but we generally camp fairly close to home and a tank of fuel in the truck will last 4 or 5 trips.

I have done some recent comparisons on my daily commute. I drive 72 miles round trip each day. When driving over 70 mph (over 2000 rpm)I tend to get about 16 mpg. When I slow down to 60 mph (approx 1600 rpm) I get about 19 mpg. When I tow, I very rarely ever exceed 65 mph. This past holiday weekend I towed the rig in my sig about 140 miles each way at approx 55-60 mph (very little highway) and I was able to get about 14 mpg. My friend, who has the exact same truck I do and a similar weighted camper drives 75 mph and only gets 9-10 mpg towing. Just some observations.

Keep it between 55 and 60 for years. I'm not in any hurry and enjoy the view. Coming back from IN this last weekend saw a lot of the Indy race traffic going about the same speed except for those driving rental units or race stickers all over there vehicle and camper.

Just returned from a trip to central Fla. Yes I have slowed and so have many others. I was only passed by a handful of 18 wheelers and 1 RV. I ran 60mph. all the time.

Last trip we took I drove 60-65 on our way there and drove 65-70+ on the way home and the mileage was too close to bother slowing down. The difference was only about .4 mpg and I actually got the better mileage on the trip home.
If I did get better mileage driving slower (to a point) then I would slow down.

We drive about 60 or less and get 11-13, depending how many steep hill and head winds.
I have learned that if we buy Cenex fuel we get better MPG in both car and pickup than other brands. I don want this to sound like an ad, but we have checked it many times.
My little Dodge Stratus went from 29-32 using Cenex. Now that is at 55-60 mph
