Last fall in walking around outside of my then brand-new 2008 Jayco 23B I noticed that while most of the edge where the tent was joined to the trailer body was sealed and dark, in several spots on both sides light from inside the camper was clearly visible along the tenting/camper wall seam.
I listed it among some other warranty items when I took the unit in last winter, but we used the unit for the first time this year last night and I noticed the same thing: most of the tent/camper seam was perfectly dark, but inside light was clearly visible in various spots on the seam line.
Looking at the areas from the inside, there were no ovious openings and the tenting did seem to be attached. Maybe thinner in spots or crudely glued in spots but I am not sure.
Bottom line I'm still wondering why most of the perimeter would be perfectly sealed but light would show through some areas right along the seam. And inside, there was no obvious opening.
I never noticed anything like this on my prior 2007 Jayco 19H. Of course it's very possible I just didn't notice.
So I am wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar?
Is this a problem? Should I forget it/it's normal? Should I request the tenting be refitted a second time? I've got well over a year on the warranty remaining.

My 19H has the same thing. It has a few spots on the front bunk where the sun seems to shine more than other spots. It doesn't leak, so I wasn't concerned. I'm not sure if I should be.

If the rain and bugs don't get in, I wouldn't be concerned. Then again, it's not my trailer. :>

Just a thought, maybe after it gets wet a few times the stitching will shrink and that will eliminate the problem.

noticed the same thing on mine, the seam on ours has a buckle in it that is letting in more light. It is sealed and survived a horrible downpour with no ill effects. I think it's more of a cosmetic issue at this point since it is screwed as well along the seam.

I don't understand how it can be sealed-which it appears to be on the inside-
but still allow visible light through when looking at it outside?
This sure goes against common sense. It would seem obvious if light can get through it's not sealed. Still not sure if this is a problem or not.

the plastic is translucent and allows the light through while still remaining sealed from moisture.

If that is the case, why is light not visiable ALL the way around the junction of the tenting and the camper-
instead of just spots here and there on either end?

I also got to wondering if this syndrome is unique to Jayco hybrids or if other brand owners have experienced it.
