I've been researching the Michelin LTX tires, same size as my OEM Wilderness tires on an 05 Tahoe, with Bridgestone A/T tires. What's the main concern I need to look at. Want to get new tires today cause' I'm leaving on a 2000 mile trip towing about 6000 (loaded trailer)in a few weeks. Any feedback. I always prefer safety first and do most of my driving on freeway so lloking for quiet tires as well.

I went with the BF Goodrich Commercial T/A's. Fairly quiet, good ride and seem to be wearing well.

After fighting the Firestone junk on DW's 2002 Tahoe I installed a set of Michelins. About a month later we got one of the rare snow storms. We were going someplace and doing just fine in 2WD when we came upon a small PU in the ditch. Pulled they guy out and never put it in 4WD lock. That sold me on Michelin.

I went with the firestone Transforce AT's. No problems yet. You definitely have the option of more expensive tires, but the Tranforce AT's seem pretty popular around here.

I went to Wal-Mart and got the Uniroyal Liberator A/T. They are made my Michelin. They have the same tred pattern as the Michelin LTX A/T. They ride like the Michelin but they were only $520 and the best price I could get for the Michelin was about $750. I towed for 1300 miles already-no problem.

I sprung for a set of Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armors for the Titan last year and really like them. They are a tad more noisy, but the "feel" of the LT tires is great when towing. I have about 10K on them and they still look like new!

After having Michelin LTX A/T on my last truck it would be hard to go with anything else they make the best tires IMO. I have also had the BF Goodrich TA's on another truck and they were great as well.

I like the Bridgestone REVO tires good balance between A/T and a milage tire. I've had the BFG TA's and Michelin LTX's in the past. The BFG's wore out way to fast for my liking (45K), the michelins were long lasting (Got nearly 70k out of them) but traction in snow and off-road was fustrating.

My truck came with Michelin LTX A/S as standard equipment. I liked them enough to go with another set. If you don't go off road or use your truck in snow, I think you would like them just fine. If you do, go with the A/T's or something else. A bit less money than A/T's as well.

I am about to replace the Michelin LTX M/S tires on the back of my duelly. Two of the four barely show the top of Washington's head when I put a quarter in the tread, the other two are a bit more worn, but not to the wear bars. They have, no exaggeration, 100,100 miles on them. I do admit I got stuck in the snow with them once while in Gillette, WY in January. I tried to get across a motel parking lot before the snow plow guy got there. OH, I had a 33 ft 5er in tow at the time and it's tires made too much drag in the six inches of snow while I was making a turn. Yup, they cost more initially, so what. The cost per mile is a lot less than the cheapo alternatives.
