When we pulled up to our site at Florence Marina SP this past weekend. I could not miss the fact that the previous visitors to our site was a chain smoker. I went and got a walmart bag out the camper and began to pick them up in each of the many spots where their chairs must of sat. My husband said I was nasty for picking them up(I made sure to wash my hands well). I was wondering how many of yall pick up others butts like I did or do you leave them. I am also wondering how smokers could not see that as very improper. I use to smoke years ago but I would put them out well and stick them in my pocket if I was not near a trash can. ( I am at this moment preparing myself for some rude replys)lol.

My wife smoked until a few months ago. She would leave an inch of water in a water bottle and put the butts there.

I don't see any difference between piles of butts or piles of garbage left in a campsite. It's all trash left for the next people to live with or deal with.

No realy...it is not just certin "groups" of campers....Its just "BAD CAMPERS"...that have no respect for others...

Yes I am shure it was trouble for you to clean up some one elses mess
I would like to thank you for that...I hope you droped the bag off at the CG office...They should have the previous ocupants info on hand.

When the wife and I leave a site we like to take one more "drive by" and look at the site and make shure we left nothing...
I wish others would

At least seed hulls are biodegradable.
The butt of a filter cigarette is not.
Hmmm... Now, there is an idea, since it seems to be impossible to outlaw tobacco, let's outlaw filter cigarettes and cigars instead. There are no real health benefits to the filters, anyway (so the "experts" tell us). Get rid of that chunk of highly refined cellulose, and the ciggy butts will disintegrate after the first hard rain. End of problem.
I would much rather clean up an ashtray than a doggy toilet.

It does not mater what it is....It is all trash left over by some inconsiderate "BAD CAMPERS"....

How do you know the poo was from another campers dog....It could have been left by strays....they do like to hang out at CG to pick up what ever scraps they can find. I have even seen some campers feeding the poor cute strays....

Those kind of people will show disregard for others no matter where they are. You will see them tossing trash AND cigarette butts out of their car windows, trashing a hotel room, and too many other mindless things to mention. Maybe it is the way they were brought up.

We are like many of y'all. We check, check and double check the campsite before leaving to be sure there is absolutely nothing left behind, including things of value.

We know how you feel. You would like to slap them upside the head and see if they are really stupid, or just forgetful.

Oh well, the world is full of them. The least we can do is to be sure the campground management is aware so that maybe they can deny any future reservations.

Happy camping, and keep the trash bag handy!
