I agree. I also wish people would keep the dogs at home, too. Everyone I know who takes a dog camping must think that just because they like their dog that everyone else likes it too. It's not cute when they bark, it's annoying. Many dog owners tend to block out their dog's barking because they are used to it. I am not used to it and I can't block it out.

Sorry. Rant over.

Now tell me how hateful I am.

I wouldn't say hateful but this conversation has gone on here many times. Someone will soon respond that your kids make too much noise. If we want to watch a movie it won't be outside, especially at night. Nights are for campfires. And nobody complains about our smoke because we have a propane campfire, with ceramic logs, so no odor and no embers. When we have our grandkids with us they are inside at night (after games or some play activity at the clubhouse). There are good points on all sides and all of them require a simple thing, common courtesy.

We don't watch TV when camping. The whole reason we are out there is to enjoy the park. Our dog is always under our control and is not allowed to bark and rarely does. He is well over 100 lbs. and is very well behaved because we make sure he is. What has happened to responsibility?

Respons-a-whaty? What is this crazy term? Is that some kind of vintage RV?
Just kidding, I think there is a serious drought of responsibility & common sense these days

Just for the record I don't have a dog and my kids are 27 and 34,and as far as I'm concerned a dog will be a dog,and if once in awhile he will let out a bark that doesn't bother me, kids will be kids, and they play, and if during "normal" hours they make a little noise, that's just being a kid....but when your dang dog barks all weekend, and your kids run around screaming in my campsite, you and I are going to have a problem!I contribute this anoyance to the parents and the dog owner that won't take responsibility for their animals or there kids! It's the stupid adults, not the dogs or the kids......is this politically correct???? Boy I sure hope not. Just my rant

We never take a TV when camping. We play cards, read, take care of the horses, sit around the campfire, etc. But then we don't watch much TV at home either.

I tnink it is very unfair to lump all dog owners into the same category, we have always taken our Shelties camping and they are well behaved and very seldom bark, I don't want to listen to a barking dog anywhere including my own. I agree on the noise from radios and televisions but it seems more and more people are into watching television outside, and as long as they are considerate of there neighbors, more power to them.
