For a variety of reasons, we are stuck with a late start this summer. Texas has already gotten hot (very hot) and we are ready to head north. Should leave tomorrow morning and make our way to Alaska. This will be our 5th driving trip to the 49th state and we are almost as excited as the first time.

Hope to meet/see some Open Roads folks this summer. Met some cool people from the forum in Newfoundland last summer! Based on what we have been hearing, it isn't gonna be that crowded.

Have a great trip...wish I was going! Last time I went to Alaska was back in my tenting days in college. Always dreamed about doing it again now that we have an RV...maybe someday

Will look forward to your posts in here. Last time we were there was in 2003, expect a lot of things have changed. Have a safe trip and enjoy, I'm green with envy.

C'mon up, leave that heat behind. Arrived at Denali yesterday in a sleet/snow mix and this morning no water as conn/hose is frozen.
Loving it.

anchoraweigh Denali is one of the places we want to visit in mid-July coming from Whitehorse. We are interested in what road conditions are like, what campground you are in and how you like it and how you are finding your 40' rig in the campsites. We are also planning to do the Fairbanks\Anchorage loop and the Kenai Peninsula so any firsthand information would be appreciated.
