Fleetwood factory service told me that the older rooms prior to 99 won't fit. Something about the zippers on the newer pups are further apart where the velco zipper insert goes. They made a change in 1999 from what I gather. Any experience with that out there?
We have a 2001 Utah CP. what does the "CP" mean anyways?
From what I gather you folks don't use the rooms much anyways. How long do these things last anyways? what goes wrong?

Many realize that it is a PITA (not to be confused with PETA, another PITA!) to use a screen/add-a-room and then never bother to use it again.
I just purchased three PUPs in the last two months to re-sell and each had either an awning and/or a screen room and they looked brand new. The owners told me they used them once and felt they weren't worth the trouble.
I can see using them if you will be set-up for three days or more.

Can't help you with most info you are asking about, all I can say is we use our add a room 24-7. It takes us about 10 min to put it up, it makes for a whole other room. When it rains we can sit out. I enjoy having it. I don't camp with out it.

We use our room alot, mostly everytime we camp. Our camper is 10 years old ( 1998)so is our add a room, so to answer two questions at once, they last as long as you take care of them! Meaning, that we wipe ours down everytime we use it and it still looks brand new. I recommend you use it during the summer when bugs are out alot, and at least try to put it up three times before you decide not to use it, it gets easier everytime you put it up, bt well worth the time!
Enjoy!

That news from the factory is new to me. I always thought that the zipper locations have stayed pretty consistent over the years due to the separate tent panel design that Coleman/Fleetwood has used.

Probably the most significant change from the older AARs to the newer design is that the old ones are one piece. The later newer models are made in three separate panels.

Every Fleetwood/Coleman AAR that I have seen,(and screen room), the insert velcro zippers are spaced exactly as wide as the awning is wide, I have not noticed a difference. As long as the AAR is for the same size of "box"; 12,10,or 8 foot I would think that it would work.

If there is a difference in the zipper location there is probably enough "slack" in the AAR installation that they do fit later models. I have a 2004 GTE Niagara. Before I purchased my own AAR, (from a private sale on PUT), I tried two different neighbor's AAR types. One was an old heavy and cumbersome one piece AAR, and the other was one of the newer three panel versions from a 2001 PopUp. They both fit my 12' box, (the same as your Utah CP). But I HIGHLY recommend the newer three panel version!

The CP in Utah CP stands for Cassette Potty.

We have a 99 Coleman Santa Fe and we use our screen room always. It hooks up with velcro and have never had any problems setting it up.

CP in Utah CP is cassette Potty! I would have guessed Coleman Popup or Compact Pup. What was Fleetwood thinking?

My wife used a screen room during church camp and loved it, but I agree with Javaseuf. Most try them and leave them packed. I'll end up finding one of the newer ones used and cheap and probably buy it. thanks folks.
