Well almost there camper should be in, in two weeks. Picked up truck yesterday, F350 4x4 dually V10. So been working on it all morning putting what info I picked up here to good use. Stable Loads and Timbrens and why I'm writing is. I also mounted a frond hitch for my fish box. It is a Receiver made by Cequent Towing Products part #65049. Other then needing to cut a slot in the plastic air dam and I could have used three arms I did it on my back in the driveway, was an easy mount. Nothing else needed to be removed a lot better looking strength wise then others I've seen. Started 8:00am just got done with all three.

What year is your truck?

Did you have to lose the fog lights or tow hooks for the install?

Cequent seems to be an umbrella company that includes several well known manufacturers, including Reese.
Is this your hitch?

Steve in 29,

Look at the Warn hitch from Cabella's ,I used one on my 2005 F-350 and you can keep your fog lights.

Thanks for the suggestion but I was just asking for reference purposes. I have an after market front winch bumper with a receiver already built in.

The truck is a 2008 F350 and yes to CEWILLIS that is the hitch. As easy as the drawing shows is as easy in put in. Nothing no hooks or lights had to be removed. A little heavy when laying on your back doing the job. Felt like weight lifting but a jack and milk box helped hold it in place till bolts were put in. Just need to cut slot in air dam doing that to a new truck hurt LOL.

I installed a front hitch a few weeks ago as well. I measured twice and cut once- what a concept! It looks really good. In retrospect I wish I had lumped all my front stuff ( reciever, pre-runner bar and PIAA lights ) in to a Buckstop or Reunel bumper oh well- I could ebay it

I just checked out the link and that one mounts different then the others I have seen before. The under-bumper mounting location, while making for a simpler job and allowing lights/hooks to remain, places the receiver (and thus any rack used) down much lower then the other types that mount through the front bumper.

The lower mounting increases the chance of hitting the ground with the rack. Especially when encountering sloped driveway entrances/exits.

I went with the thru the bumper type but saved the factory fog lights by fabricating new brackets from 1/8 aluminum and attaching to the hitch by drilling and tapping for 1/4 by 20 machine bolts. This pushed the lights out 1 1/2 inches, beyond the face of the bumper. The plastic license plate bracket was too high for the hitch so I replaced it with fabricated light gauge stainless steel one. Pictures show bumperless truck, OEM light and bracket, new bracket, light installed in bracket, hitch and lights installed and completed job.
