Not having an electrical plug near the tv to hook a digital converter into, I went on a quest to find a 15" digital 12v tv to replace my analog. I found one through google and decided to give it a try.
I'm proud to say its in and it works! And its digital and High def. A Jensen 1508.
My only problem with it is the cords hang down instead of fitting nicely behind the mount. But at least I'll have digital! Slightly more than the cost of a converter box! Its in the 400$ range. But i'd have had to pay someone to hook up electrical for the converter box and this was a lot easier.

You might try taking the cords that are hanging down and work them into loops that will sit behind the TV or some other nook, and use wire ties to hold them together and in place.

I looked at my TV setup yesterday. It is a Samsung 17" computer monitor with a built in analog TV tuner. It is not 12v though. There is an inverter mounted inside the casing so it can run on 12v. That means I can replace my TV with any 120V HDTVs on the market.

Hooked up our new 19" LCD HDTV to an inverter today and it worked just fine. Really enjoying the 19" vs. the old 13" we had...and the beautiful picture.
