Hey guys.
If this topic has been discussed before, then please forgive me. I did a search and didn't locate much on the topic.

My RV dealer says there is a proper way to plug into a 50 amp service in an RV park. I was told to turn off the breakers to both the coach and the parks plug.

Does anyone have any further infor on the best way to hook up to 50 amp so you don't blow you electrical out of the coach?

Thanks much.

When I plug in our cord, I don't mess with the breakers and have never had any complications. Good luck!

Make sure the breakers at the source are off before plugging, then turn them on. You risk the chance of burning the blades of your plug if you don't.

Turn off the breaker on the pole, plug in your camper then turn the breaker back on.

Yep, what hey said. I don't know why you would need to turn off the breakers at both ends - the main issue is to protect the plug blades, so shutting off the breakers at the pole/hook-up is all you need IMHO.

Just turn off the breakers on the shore power. That's more than enough.

Yep, what they said. IMHO you don't need the breakers off at the trailer panel.

I also make sure my AC's are off before I turn the breakers on or off. I just do the breaker(s) at the CG pole.
