yep, we have Empire here in the Detroit area.
my mother called them years ago, and they did NOT come the next day...she got the old standard reply that all the guys that do the work, were already scheduled for then. She had to wait till the following week to get it installed.
Of course, this was years ago...so it might have changed since then...
Good Luck!!

If you go to ripoffreport.com and do a search you will find quite a few people who are not very satisfied with them.

My sister-in-law called them and when they came out, they used a pretty hard sell to try to get her to sign a contract. She didn't appreciate the rudeness but the more she resisted, the more aggressive they became. The samples were of poor quality and the quotes were high. She finally had to demand that they get out of her house.

With outfits like this, you don't have a chance to price-shop or compare quality. They come to your home with some samples and high-pressure you into ordering. You end up buying low-quality carpet at high prices, and never have a way to know if you've been ripped.

Most carpet is made by a few companies, and it is easy online to compare prices and quality and do your homework. Personally, I will never buy anything but nylon or wool. Do your homework to find out why...

I see their ads on TV, however I would never consider ordering anything like carpeting from a TV ad...
I used to drive my self crazy with the shopping and comparing, but that's just me.
No one could carry enough samples to my home for me to shop that way.

There was an article in our local paper a few months ago where they compared all of the carpet retailers, and I remember them quoting a few people that said Empire uses pressure tactics to get the sale. Also one lady said she wanted to think about it and called back the next day to agree to the purchase and the price mysteriously went up quite a bit.

I will see if I can find a link for you...

A few months ago, there was an article in our local newspaper concerning customer complaints. It was not favorable.

We had them come out for a quote when we were carpet shopping. They were the highest priced with probably the poorest quality. We couldn't find the exact color we were looking for and he said that was all he had so we said thanks but no thanks. They do use alot of pressure to get the sale. I really didn't like that. We went to a small local store instead, the guy for the quote was GREAT! He spent 2 hours measure and writing down instructions so we had the LEAST amount of remnant carpet. Also brought him in about a thousand cheaper because he took the time.
