Also if you cant lift with the axle what does everybody do when they go camping and get a flat on the way? Bring big blocks and a big floor jack with you everytime?

My frame is like a L its flat under neaith with a piece of meatl comming down on one side like an L. So it just doesnt seeem safe to lift it on the fram like that.

I like the look of the Bowser SmartJak - think I'll get one for emergencies, although, I have Good Sam Emergency Road Service and won't travel without it after a tire incident on I-19 in Phoenix. I recommend that highly for when wheel problems arise while traveling.

If you need both wheels off at the same time. Here is what I did I pulled the tires up on 2 2x6s staked on top of each other. Then placed my jack stands 1/4 inch off the frame on both sides of the tires, then let the air out of the tires wheels came right off. I also had the RV attached to the truck.

Just wondering Why on earth would you not be able to lift from the spring plate (where the axle and the spring meet)?
This area would seem to me, to be carring all the weight anyhow.
I drive up on blocks to raise one tire then used the jack to lift the other the rest of the way. No problems so far.

And I will bet that if you get roadside service to change a tire, they will jack it on the axle!!!! Chris

What about using the Mor-Ride mount as a jack point with a block of wood between it an the bottle jack? That is where the leaf springs connect to the frame.
