We enjoy our 2006 12HW Jayco immensely..but we are beginning to get uncomfortable with the Jayco mattresses. They have lost their "bounce" for lack of better description. There are indents where our bodies spend the most time...not very well cushioned anymore, and you end up sleeping in the "dent".
Has anyone found good replacements for the original mattresses? I've heard people talk about some sort of foam topping for the mattresses...does that work? Any ideas on cost?

We put a 2" foam topper on ours. I believe she ordered it from Overstock.com or something like that. You can also pick it up a Walmarts. I believe we paid just about $100.00 for it. Since she bought it - it's kind of of top secret what she paid LOL.
I don't know how you made it as long as have on the stock RV mattress. Its like sleeping on a two dollar lounge sofa. JM2Cents Bill

I replaced the original mattress in my Truck Camper with a foam mattress from Innerspace. I had bought one for the House, and DW and I really liked it. I found out that they had the same model in the RV size in stock, so I bought one for the TC also. This one is 8" thick and has 1/4" holes from the top surface through to the bottom for better ventilation. DW usually has several "warm" events during the night and she says that this does make her feel more comfortable. Check out www.wallacesalesinc.com for different sizes and thicknesses. They sent mine with no shipping charges on UPS (it comes rolled up in a box) to the House. The Innerspace Foam Mattress is imported from Italy, and has done very well for the DW and myself. Good Luck on your search.

You could search this Forum for `mattress' or go to www.verlo.com where they will make a mattress to fit.

If your contemplating change out, then take a look at The Original Mattress Factory - check on the net. We contacted them and told them the measurements, etc.. They had a store in Richmond, VA and they made ours for us...great price and excellent quality. We had tried the topper scene and it just didn't work. Good luck, Ron

Is there any difference between a regular queen and a rv queen ? I've been looking to replace mine too and was considering a pillow top mattress from Sealy.
