I built a 10'x22'deck out of PT 4x4's filled with fine gravel for our site. last year we just placed a couple of odd pieces of carpeting on it. Now we just purchased a large enough indoor/outdoor carpet to cover the entire deck. I plan on going over the 4 x's to secure it but am not sure what to use for fasteners. Staples will rust and possible tear. Are there suitable fasteners for this application?
Any suggestions?

You can get MONEL (a nickel/copper alloy) staples for a T50 stapler or at least you could years ago. Your wallet will take a hit though.

Whey not get a small PT molding over the edge and tack with small nails. This will give a nice finished look and will hold the carpet in place.
