2004 F-350 SRW CC short box Lariet
20+ highway at 70
9+ towing 14K 5er
I use a Hypertech programmer set to tow mode and diesel additave.
I wish I had the 2005 model as it has 3500 lb more GCWR 20,000 vs 23,500 but I still love my truck!

Use to own:

2006 F-250 Crew 6.0 4x4
16-17 mpg town/hwy summer
15-16 mpg town/hwy winter
Got as much as 20mpg but very few and far between
10-11 mpg towing 16000# toyhauler - "No Headwind"
As low 6-8 mpg with headwind.

Loved the truck, wished I had back for the fuel mileage, my new F-450, I'm lucky if I get 8mpg towing.

Many Ford dealerships have asked me to consider going new...they have plenty of trucks! Even with the employee pricing and rebates, I just have to say no.
I can get double the truck (F-350 CC Lariat) for the price of a 2008 XLT.
With everthing going up and up, we will stick to 2005-2007 model years.

Running a 2001 Excursion 7.3 PSD. Except for a tranny transplant, we love this beast. My wife manages to get 18-19mpg (I'm in the 14 range because of the Audi addiction) and 11-12 with the trailer. If gas gets too high I may park it and get her something more gas efficient for the every day errands. You can't beat it for comfort and capacity.

Camping with Cash, you made a very wise decision, sometimes I wish I would of kept my 2006 6.0 F-250 just for the mileage I got. I do love my F-450 though but I wish it did just a little better on mileage but I bought the truck to tow my trailer so I'm not complaining.
