I hesitate posting this here as I know the help I am going to get is "buy a Honda". I have a couple of Honda ATVs and a LARGE Honda Generator but my small Generator is a Coleman and I don't have the funds right now to buy the Honda 1000 that is on my wish list.

I have not used the Coleman in a few years but this last week I needed to top off the camper batteries while in the boondocks. After it ran for a few minutes there was fuel running out of the cap and down the side. I looked the cap over and didn't see anything broken. There appears to be a couple of tin disks with a piece of foam between for a vent and a cork type gasket for a seal above the threads. The fuel seemed to be coming out of the vent. Anyone else have this problem? I am wondering if the cork is leaking air allowing fuel to go up the vent? Is there replacement caps available and if so where? Will a new cap fix it?

Was it sitting in direct sunlight ? The heat could have caused a pressure build up in the tank and caused it to burp fuel, which is what it should do since the cap is designed to vent.

In the shade. Temp in the low 60's. 3/4 tank of fuel.

Powermate Corp., the maker of the generators with the Coleman label, files for bankruptcy in March. Try for a replacement cap, and good luck.

Buy the way, the Coleman name has been widely bought and sold.
Jarden makes Coleman camping products.
York makes Coleman home furnaces.
Air Xcel makes Coleman RV air conditioners.
Fleetwood used to make Coleman trailers.

I'm free of prostate cancer for 5 years now.
All men over age 50 should get an annual PSA blood test. Mine had a low reading, but the yearly jump was significant. The biopsy showed cancer just entering the aggressive stage. Dr. Hackenslash removed it.
