In the past I have blown the trailer plug tail/marker light fuse on my truck but now my trailer lights are not working and the fuse is not blown. I hooked the trailer up to my f-i-l's truck and all lights work fine so it is not the trailer. Both the stop and turn lights work fine when hooked to the truck just the tail/marker lights don't. Any clues??

Do you have power to the plug in at the back/bed of the truck (specifically the tail light prong)? If so, there is often a fuse in a box (on the trailer) where the umbilical cord connects. If no, and your truck fuses are good, you need to do a wire/connector trace...obviously you have an open circuit.......Brian

Check your ground. This is a common weak spot.

There are two fuses for towing in that truck. One under the dash and another under the hood in the fuse block.

fireman, if there is a fuse block under the hood I can't find it and the manual does not mention it

On my F250 the under hood fuse panel is on the left (diver's) side just in front of the master cylinder. If I remember right, the cover says "relay center". Had a similar problem this spring and the problem was in the 7 pin connector on the truck. The OEM Ford Plug is non-servicable. You can unplug the harness (somewhere up above the spare tire)from the truck and remove everything but that's it. You have to replace it.

I think someone has the charging circuit in mind when talking about the two fuses.

There's only one fuse in the running lite circuit.

Also, if the ground was bad he'd have no flashers either.

Prolly a busted wire in the running lite circuit.
