I am trying to hook up my sat for the first time. I have a Laredo 29RK. It is sat prep. The only sat connector I can see is in the bedroom on the same connector plate as the antenna. This is where the switch is to turn the antenna on or off. If I put my box there. How do I connect my tv in the living room to the sat? I only have one connector next to the tv in the living room.

Ok, first you need to know where the "SAT" leads go.. This is a pain

There are two Television "distribution" systems used in most motor homes and trailers. One has a single plate near the main TV, this is the same size as an outlet plate or a house wall switch plate. it has a 12 volt outlet, a TV-antenna connection a button and a light I'm going to call this "Type 1"

Type 2 is,among other brands, Flex Vision.. A box with many buttons. "Type 2"

If you have the second type, then one of the inputs on the back is "From Sat" or some such, You simply cable the output of a sat receiver that has RF-out to this jack and be done with it. As for the sat input I suggest you run a nice fresh RG-6 from a basement compartment or through wall connector for sat LNB input

If you have the 1st type.. then you open the box (remove the face plate and the electronics attached). Then you identify the PARK CABLE input (Center one or 2nd from left as you look at it from the back IIRC) remove the cable and using a ohm meter and a shorting wire verify it's the right one (Measure resistance center to nut, OPEN CIRCUIT, good, now short the outside jack, Resistance now near zero, Good) You got the right wire) Extend this to the TV-ANT-IN on the sat receiver. Run the TV-OUT RF cable back into the box and connect to the jack you just unhooked the park cable from.

Run NEW RG-6 as described above for the LNB side of the sat receiver

It is possible that in your rig.. If you have 2 TV's then there is a splitter up front where you are supposed to hook the TV-OUT from the sat receiver. This then feeds your front TV through a switch and your back as well.. You will need to buy the switces more than likely however. Without seeing your system "hands on" I can not say more.. I'm in Detroit if you are near.. I can park you over night

Nothin adds excitment like something that is none of your business

Wow, John, I must say I wish we were parked near you !
We spent all winter trying to figure all that out... never did.
I'm pretty sure we have Type 1 in our 03 Damon Challenger.
However, we could never figure out how to do what you just described.... it is very frustrating being tech. challenged .
Are you sure you wont be in souther Ontario this summer ???

free place to park.......

Sat prep usually means they have ran a cable that goes to a plate somewhere on your roof. Prep for you to add a dish for the cable.

This I know. My question is. How do I get the sat box connected for the living room TV? The sat connector is in the bedroom.

I figured out how to get the sat signal to the TV in the living room. It ended up being very simple. It looks more complicated than it really is. The first pic is the oridginal plate in the bedroom.

this is the rear view.

I added two connectors on the top and jumped the output to the LR TV to one of the new connectors

Here is the front view of the modified plate. Now if I want cable or antenna reception I jump from the top right to the top left connector and for sat Connect from the sat connector to the top left.

I would to thank whom ever made this page that I used as a model to my modification.Satellite wiring
