Just a heads up for those of you that go to Dumont. Over the last season there were camera crews following the rangers. The footage is set to air Monday night. It is a show called Party Heat. It airs on TruTV or what used to be Court Tv. It is scheduled for 8PM June 2'nd. It will be interesting to see how they show Dumont.

The show focuses on the rabble rousers and partiers getting busted. Drunken riders getting hurt etc... Like a "cops" show, but in party locations. They did havasu already.
Maybe this one will be different, but the previews don't look too promising.

Just remember, it's all about ENTERTAINMENT and what you're seeing may or may not be exactly how things went down. They edit the scenes to make them look more exciting/eventful/etc...I worked on a the police unit that they filmed down here in San Diego a couple years back (they are coming back to SD this Summer) so I saw first hand how they manipulate and edit the filmed scenes to make them more exciting.

Well that was not good. Lets see, excessive speed wipeouts, collisions, guys on parole, underage drinking, girls flashing, guy with a concealed weapon driving in the wilderness study area. Definetly not a balanced view at all.

All they showed was the worst of it, of course, which scares people.
We're new to riding, and we never made it to the dunes this season. Mostly because I'm concerned about taking my girls there. That's what scares me away, that it doesn't look family friendly.
I'm very tolerant and respectful of the sport, but the show didn't help at all.
Especially for people that don't know the sport, they will immediately believe we're all drunken riders.
I wish they would come up w/ a full documentary on all that goes on, NOT just the police part of it. 'Cause you never got to see the good people that go there too.
