I was looking at this GPS, and it looks like it will meet my needs. I have AAA Plus RV, and thought this would work well if I broke down. Does anyone have this GPS, and what is your opinion?

I have recently started looking at GPS systems, and would appreciate any recommendations.

Thanks,

I have the Magellen Maestro (Model 4000 I think) and it has the AAA Tourbook feature. It is handy in finding campgrounds that are listed in the AAA Tourbook, but it doesn't list the membership type Campgrounds..ie; Thousand Trails, C2C etc.
It has served us very well for a couple years. Have no problem recomending it.

I have a Magellan 3250(?)with the AAA feature. YOu program your membership number into it and you can set up your phone to be a bluetooth device in conjunction with the gps. We recently were on a trip and encountered a flat. Just push the button and AAA is contacted and you can use the speaker phone feature of the gps.Pretty neat feature. It also shows you your latitude and longitude position.

We have had one since Christmas, works very well. Haven't used the AAA yet, but I would probably call Good Sam anyway.

I have the 4250 and like for auto navigation. There were a few bugs int he original ROM, but they now have a upgraded ROM and it appears to have fixed the previous issues (for existing owners you can goto the website and download, then flash your unit).

The AAA info is great - even if you're not a member. Make sure to get the updates quarterly on the website @ www.AAA.com/GPS. Also, since you are a member, you can get a 15% discount and Magellan will extend the 1 yr mfg warrenty to 2 yrs at no cost.

I own 2 GPS units - a Garmin and a Magellan. The Garmin is a handlheld that I use for hiking, biking and geocaching.

From a Customer Service standpoint, I like Garmin a whole lot better. The couple of time I've called/emailed them it has always been a positive experience. With Magellan, I had an issue registering the Traffic Service when I first got the unit and it took them 3 weeks to get me a new registration code; which I felt was totally unacceptable. I never had to send my unit if for service, so that is about the extent of my experience with tme - hopefully any furure contact will be better.
