I would like to add a second roof air and my rear vent is wired for it but I also on the main switch it has front, off and rear. Does this mean the electrical system cannot support both of them on? That would defeat the purpose of having 2 of them. Also can a Emmerson brisk air be recharged? I have cleaned it according to the sticky thread but it is only 10 degrees cooler than the incoming air. Thanks

30 amp service will only let one AC run at a time. You could probably install the second, but use the switch to choose which to run. Later on they came out with a controller to swap cycles with the compressors. Intellitec is one of them.

It would help if you'd furnish the size and Amp service to your coach. If it's 30 Amp, it would take a lot of effort to install another air and the thermostat for a system that your could run only one at a time. Instead, you may want to consider a new, larger air conditioner to replace the current one; it may give you the cooling power you need, especially if you install a Fantastic fan or similar type in the rear to exhaust the heat.

You don't say what rig you have but with that switch it is wired to run one or the other. There are ways to run both. Either with an energy management system or add a second cord for your second air. I did the latter.

Well you Can run 2 AC's on 30 amps.
Just not 2 of the less efficient 13,500 BTU units commonly installed.
You can get 13.5 units that run on 10.5 amps.
Smaller 8.3 units run on 8 amps.

My factory 13.5 runs on 14.5 amps.
My added 8.3 runs on 8 amps.
With the refer & water heater on Gas, as long as the converter is not putting out a big charge to the batteries I have no problem running both IF the campground has Good power.
I have a 30' or so MH and those 2 AC's keep it nice and cool up to 114F. (hottest temps we have been in)
My second AC is also wired so that it can be plugged in to a separate outlet if available

Good advice about upgrading existing air. But you gave me the impression that he should run his exhaust fan at the same time as the air.
He will not be exhausting the heat, but the conditioned air...
And it will never get cool.

Thanks for the tips. I'll check into a larger replacement for my existing one.

Dont give up on adding a second unit. It sounds like you probably already have the wiring in place. As stated above you can do a search an tapping into your genny circuit to run the second AC on a seperate cord plugged into the 20amp plug on most poles. If you are on genny power you can run both. If plugged in you will find that 90% or more of locations have a 30amp and a 20amp plug. Again, this will allow you to run both.

If you are having issues cooling your unit with a 13,500 BTU unit, I don't think upgrading it to a 15,000 BTU is going to resolve your issues.

I tapped into the genny circuit myself for less than $10 worth of parts, but there is a pre-wired solution that's about $100 that's pretty easy to hook up.

As noted a 30 amp power supply supports one A/C at a time

However there is hope

http://www.psrv.net

I built my own equivalent to this system but using this method you can run both A/C's at one time.. NOTE that the instructions may not apply to your install however. They did not to mine.

Do you mean I would tap into my generator circuit before the convertor. If so that makes sense.
