I am a member of K/H. I do not know what is going on with K/H for sure but the campground we go to a lot at Soap Lake Wa is K/H and they have recently opened it up to the public. We have K/H as a secondary membership so we are not limited to only their parks.

I told her about the website and she said that itr was down to be re-done and was back up today.. She hadn't heard of any public camping changes, just a high volumn of newbies taking their free weekends and sales pitches...

call in, get a different operator, act dumb, and just ask about public camping changes. you might get a different story.

I believe that you are talking about the Western Horizon park at Soap Lake (which you may have stayed at under ROD) which has been sold and is now open to the public.

You are correct Barb. But it is still a Western Horizon park. When I heard about the change I called WH about the change and they confirmed it was sold but that it is still part of WH parks. So, Soap Lake is a mixed park. When we have went there it was never full so I guess the new owners want a bigger chunk of the RV world. My inlaws have K/M, ROD, WH, AOR, ACN, and other private campgrounds. I get confused about which campgrounds goes with which company sometimes. So many campgrounds to choose from. We have access to all their campgrounds for 21 days a year. It is still a good deal for us because it only costs us 20.00 a year and we stay at most campgrounds for 10.00 or less. We are going to Ponderosa Falls (formerly yogi bear) just outside of Spokane, Wa in 3 weeks.
