My research on Gettysburg indicated it's tough to pick a BAD campground there. We stayed at Artillery Ridge in early April and enjoyed it. They offer a low-tech light/sound show free to their campers, and it was actually very well done. To really enhance your time there, try to watch "Gettysburg" and/or read "Killer Angels" (on which the movie was based) prior to your visit. As you walk the battlefield, you will be able to envision it better. Plan on taking a tour AND driving it yourself after the tour .... it is quite a moving experience. Camp on!

We have stayed at Drummer Boy and Artillery Ridge and like AR better. I Like to camp down by the horses. I think they have 3 or 4 cabins as well down by the horses too. It is really neat to watch them out the windows of the coach and it tells me I do not want to do all that work that horses entail.

We stayed at Drummer Boy 2 years ago before they went under the new management and loved it-comments since then haven't been quite so favorable. We are staying at Artillery Ridget in August. Have taken the horseback tour and it's absolutely fantastic. I'd highly recommend it.

Just came back from Gettysburg. Stayed at the Codorus State Park at Hanover. Very nice. For camping they have shaded and in the open. Also have cabins and yurts for the kids.
Camped in every state but Alaska

My vote is for the Gettysburg campground. I did not like Granite Hill at all. I moved to Gettysburg campground after deciding our stay in the area for a week.

It's almost worth making the trip just to find out what a "yurt" is, and why the kids would want one.
