Saw one the other day. Pretty good construction. Even if you have an ATV in you truck bed, you can still carry an ice chest, camping gear, etc.

Guys,
I found the following link while surfing this subject earlier today. Note in the attached link that a guy has fabricated a rear wheel support system that slides into is receiver hitch for his short-bed Dodge to haul his Polaris RZR. I'd appreciate your thoughts on leveraging this design so that I could attach a similar kind of support system to a modified ball mount with a longer neck. Do you think it could be done? esentially it would amount to an extended ball mount hitch that incorporates the support system into it. I know guys that have 12' in bed campers and are still able to tow a bost. It may require a different kind of receiver hitch but I'm just pondering the idea at the moment.
Thoughts?

Just picked up a RZR a few weeks ago on a flatbed 5x8 trailer. No problems with width, it is 50" stock. On length it took the whole floor of the trailer and I would not have been able to close a loading ramp if it had one, the tires were on the trailer but the RZR and back edge of the tires were about 3" past the edge. So, it's just over 8' long (without bumpers) so even with a long bed getting the gate closed is questionable. I used the utility trailer (2000# axles) because I didn't want to get the TH out of storage, I did load it backwards to keep the weight bias in front of the axle. Hope you can figure something out, the RZR is an absolute blast.
Don't take life too seriously, it's not permanent.

I bought mine on memorial weekend and hauled it to our campsite in the back of my f350. It was really close for the tailgate to shut. I imagine if I had let half the air out of all of the tires I could've closed the gate. It weighs 1000 lbs. I dont have air bags but might consider them if I was transporting it all of the time in the bed of the truck. I have a 6" lift on the truck and the tri-fold aluminum ramps were just wide enough to get it up there! Pretty scary. Didnt want to bash the rear window out.

I had the guys at Bulldog ATV build me a side loader ramp form my RZR. I'm able to drive it on and drive off. No backing up. I use 12' ramps.
I load it in a 2007 3/4 Dodge Mega cab w/6.7 Cummins. I had to install airbags to elminate the soft cornering as a result of the weight being above the rail. I pull a 30' Laredo trailer. Handles excellent with the airbags and weight distribution hitch.

If my Ranger fits, then your RZR will.

I have their quad rack. The first time you load it is a sphincter factor of 9.8, but after that it is not too bad. I have a short bed.

Edit: While that rack is cool I don't think I'd have the cajones to drive it up there.
Driving it up is the easy part, driving it down is a different experience.

I would be very concerned about hauling that kind of weight above the rails while pulling a 30’ trailer. The “soft handling” was probably your warning sign that your setup is not very stable. IMO, the best advice is to put your travel trailer up for sale and get a Toy Hauler.
