Has anyone replaced the middle portion on their screen door with the clear plastic insert, one is fixed and one slides over the latch? If yes, how do you remove the fixed panel? I can insert the movable panel but the fixed one seems to be part of the door?

I installed mine right over top with those "things" from the home depot to hold a sreen window in a storm door...Not sure if you can use them or not in yours but I was able to in mine...I like to be able to remove it when I want to and this was the best solution...Hope this gives you an idea

There are two little plastic rivets that have to be removed then the solid plastic insert can be removed. I then replaced it with clear plex a glass. The rivets hold the vertical bar that forms the square that holds the solid piece.

I just did mine...little plastic rivets, you can pull these with needle nose pliers, bend out the old one, but vertical bar back in, put rivets back in, then instal slide...very easy to do
