This weekend I am going to be at a campground that only has 30 amp service. My 5er requires 50 amp and has two A/Cs, microwave, etc. They said that as long as I didn't run BOTH A/Cs and a lot of other stuff, I should be fine. I am skeptical, but wanted to get some veteran feedback.

"They" are correct (as usual ). As long as you have an adapter you'll be ok.

Hi, my fiver is 50amp, and using one A/C on 30 amp is fine, even using the M/W at the same time, just make sure you have the 30amp male/50amp female adapter.

We are currently in a 30 amp park with a 50 amp trailer. I just put the fridge and water heater on gas and carry on. I do not think you will be able to run two A/C with 30 amp.

I have a 50AMP trailer that I run off my 30AMP generator all the time. I cannot run both A/C's at the same time as the living room A/C is a 15,000 unit. If that one is running, I can't use the microwave or anything else. With just the bedroom 13,500 A/C running I can us whatever electric I want to.

You can run two high amp appliances at one time. Put the fridge and water heat on propane. Remember the converter may draw a lot of power for the first couple hours if your battery is low.

We have been using 30amp with our 50 amp trailer for 6 months.....haven't had a problem. You just have to manage your electricity usage. I always turn off the A/C when using the microwave or my hair dryer. What I have found that really throws everything off is our hot water heater.

Contrary to the post above, I ran my 2 A/C's on 30 amps (15k & 13.5k) at the same time for 24 hrs a day for 4 days straight w/ no problems in Havasu a few weeks back. Fridge was on propane. Also, 5 other trailer in our group did as well. This was at Cattail Cove Campground, AZ.

i got a box from camper world that uses the 30 amp and the 15 amp plugs at a cg and gives me 45 amps. with this i can run almost everthing, even my hot water. the only problem is my dw forgets to turn off the air when she dries her hair. that means i have to get out of bed and go set the breaker quite often.
