I fully agree, Also Interstate battery
I notice that the US-220 is identical in spec to the Kirkland US-220 and the Interstate U-220
I would recommend Kirkland (US-battery) from Costco or US Battery or Interstate as a good comprimise between battery life and cost
Trojans for best life but I'm not yet sure how the cost/life will work out (I'm still testing my interstates)
My interstates (OEM) are now 3 years old and have been discharged well beyond the 50% point more times than I care to admit, They still test well on a load test, and show no signs of wearing out.. With the Progressive Dynamics PD 9180 + Charge Wizard I have to water them annually.. That and routine cleaning, is all they take.
I'm expecting at least 2 more years, perhaps more, out of 'em
Excide, Sam's, Wall Mart's I woudl have had to repalce by now.

There is a thread here some where about the Sam's 6v's. NOT all of Sam's 6 volt batteries are made by the same manufacturer. Depends on where you are. I got four Sam's 6 volts last year that were made by Interstate. They even had the Interstate label under the Sam's label.
They are not all made by Exide. US Battery makes all Interstate 6 volt batteries and they are a good battery.

I've got 6 of the Sam's (Energizer) batteries in my golf cart. I weighed them at time of purchase and they are exactly (62lbs) the same as the T-105s that came out. Can't yet comment on life as I've had this set only about 6 months. I've heard various reports from golf cart people, some claiming that they're junk, others claiming that they match Trojan in every respect.
I do know that their starting batteries for my backhoe have not been satisfactory at all. After going through 4 of them under warranty, I just walked away from their warranty and got the next one from AutoZone.
My Caddy, Gremlin, Fummins, and bus all have batteries from Wal-Mart (the bus's T-105's are Auto Zone Duralasts, IIRC...Wal-Mart doesn't sell them here). No problems...the Caddy's is 5 years old (cranking a 542ci engine), and still holds a full charge for 2+ weeks. Liz's Blazer used 2 of them, and they were both fine after 3 years (she sold the truck).
The only things that don't have Wal-Mart batteries are my Magnum (OEM Mopar), her Festiva (the Die-Hard she bought it with), & her motorcycle (I think an Interstate).
