Toby sounded like a wonderful family member. The hardest thing in life for me is to lose a dog. My sympathy to you and your family. Hopefully one day you'll have it in your heart to welcome another lab into your family. I do Lab and Golden rescue and they are the sweetest dogs. Cancer seems to be getting too many dogs and cats these days at such a young age. I'm sure it's whatever garbage they put in pet food these days. I've lost two dogs and two cats to cancer. It's horrible. Just be blessed that Toby didn't suffer for long.

I'm sorry for your loss! Toby may not live a long life, I'm most certain it's a very good one. You wrote such a beautiful tribute and brought tear to my eyes. I found it hard to read through this. Take care!

Your tribute was wonderful and made me sob. In my mind, I can picture Toby fishing and camping with you. What a wonderful dog!
We were in the same position several years ago with our 5 year old boxer. She was diagnosed with lymphoma and our vet told us she had 3 to 6 months to live. She lasted a week and we had to put her to sleep. Staying with her was the hardest thing I have done but would never have left her alone.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and yours.
