I think there is a greater chance that the piece-o-c r a p Dometic refers will catch fire from their recall issues than from using propane when traveling!
(Of course if the propane wasn't on, the junkie Dometic wouldn't catch fire either)

If I have the generator on...I run it on 110...heck, I even refuel with the generator running. In fact...I've refueled at times with the generator and the engine running...sometimes with the fridge on propane and I'm still here.

Of course I have a diesel and I have yet to see a truck driver shut his rig off when refueling so when when they start...I will too.

Gas...that's a different story.

I just don't understand how a propane fridge is safe enough for every RV'er out there to use while camping, but suddenly becomes a dangerous, unpredictable, extreme fire hazzard that only a madman would run while underway....

...now you said that, nobody else that I've read has. If you are referring to my post, I never said or inferred any of this stuff. If you carefully read the other posts that run without propane on, you will see that some of us feel more secure driving with one less open flame. It's nothing more than basic physics if the worst should happen.

The basic premise is that an open flame is a hazard; tiny as it may be, it is still a hazard which is a risk. How you want to inflate that risk is your choice. Given that you ride with propane on, you shouldn't waste you time with this argument anyway; you feel safe doing it one way, other of us don't: that's all.

Give an opinion, give reasons to support that opinion, and let the OP decide. In the meantime, go camping!

Well said. My post wasn't directed to anyone inparticular, I've just seen this arguement many times, over the last couple years, and that was my attempt at a humerous contribution.

...so sorry for missing that; it's because this argument has popped-up so much recently that I get so indignant about the ridiculousness of it all; I've read good arguments that support both driving with or without propane; my thought was that a new RVer should hear the whys and why-nots of the practice presented in a reasonable fashion without the flame-a-thon.

In the meantime, how come we're not camping yet?
