Just curious if anyone has had any failure issues with the Ford OEM receiver hitches, particularly the 2008 versions? I have a Luverne cushioning receiver that I need to remove and rebuild but since I don't have a OEM receiver I was checking with some salvage yards and found some new 2008 "take-off" hitches. Should be able to pick one up for less that $100. This will give me some time to get parts and rebuild my Luverne.

Years ago I picked up a "near new" receiver hitch from a U-Haul dealer. OEM for my suburban. They said the guy just wanted a different hitch. Might check with those that install hitches.

The Ford SD receivers are made well in my opinion. When I had a 1,200# tongue I could set the WD on the truck using the Ford receiver easy. No twisting/winding up issues. The weight just moved and responded to the hitch adjustments.

I did have to change mime out but only to get more tongue weight. The F250 and F350 SRW receiver have a 1,250# WD tongue limit. I needed more so I changed to a Class V Towbeast.

See this post which shows my change over with pics. F350 Receiver Upgrade - (Pic's)

Hope this helps.
