OK, I spent the extra money for the Gel-gloss exterior on my '05. Several years down the road, exterior clean up is quick and easy with Awesome from the $1 store and an RV brush.

But.... The rubber roof extends over the side of the trailer and there is a rubber cover over the screw channel running the length of the whole exterior.

I tried everything and I can not remove the ugly black stains from the rubber.

I know some one out there in this vast on-line RV'ing community has some good tips for me.....

PS: Gearing up for my first two week trip over the 4th and I just can't wait to fill up the diesel tank (extra large) of my TV!!!

Try softscrub,

On stubborn areas let it sit on the stain briefly.

I use it on the boat, and MH. Haven't found much better.

Also, on the boat, I have used toilet bowl cleaner on real bad stains, but be careful and wash throroughly and immediately if you use it. It has mild acid, which works good on the boat stains. Have not had any problem using it over the past 10 years. I would consider using it sparingly on the MH, if it was bad and the softscrub did not do the job I wanted. Think lots of water for rinsing on either product.

After using any product on the rubber roof, I would also use a rubber enhancing product when finished cleaning.

Good luck.

A good orange cleaner does a real good job on the vinyl screw trim.

You say you tried everything but I doubt that. What did you use? I clean my roof, awning, and side walls with a solution of Awesome and Chlorine bleach.

I have been there and found the solution. Remove the screws from each end and slide the molding out of the channel. Soak the molding in bleech water, dry and paint with white or matching paint.
Installing back in channel is not that difficult and the mold is gone forever.

If its the plastic that covers the screws you can replace it. It comes in rolls with your choice of colors and width's. you can get it at most RV supply stores.

I learned this from cleaning a shower, but for mold try white vinegar, Just spray it on, let it sit a few minutes, use a small brush and rinse. It works for me.

I used lacquer thinner on the trim around my door. It is the rubber type. It got a little sticky but it dried fine. If I had it to do over I would just replace it.

Sounds wierd, but the only way I can get my white vinyl clean is WD40. Use it carefully, like spraying it on a wet sponge, black comes right off, then clean it off with the awesome.

I'm sure many of these cleaning tips work just fine, but since you can buy new screw cover material for about $12 for 100' and with a lot less labor just replace what you've got....why not JUST DO IT!!!!....Brian
