Kind of agree with you, that is how I read it also. didn't want to respond since I knew I would be skewered for it, but since you did, I will lend a little support to you. you are braver then I.

This deal, cut-rate or not, puts money into the local economy where it will be used, leveraged, and will increase liquidity for at least one entity.
This is a textbook example (as posted previously) of furthering the free market economy where a willing seller meets a willing buyer and a deal is struck.
I didn't notice anything in the original post that indicates the OP took advantage....could have been that the OP paid the price that the friend asked. The statement regarding a "heck of a deal" doesn't automatically correlate to an excess of market power or leverage on the part of one party or the other.

So if I buy an expensive car, get into financial hardship and you are willing to take the car and take over payments you are taking advantage of me? That's crazy. It's a wonderful deal for both parties. Both people get a great deal. And we don't even know that was the original deal.
Sounds like a lot of sour grapes from some of the posters.

Hey ya'll, opinions are like nose hairs, everybody has them. As to whether he took advantage of his friend, who knows. It appears that they both agreed to the sale, no one said he held a gun on his buddy to force the sale. I can only hope you guys that think he took advantage of his friend are never in this position of having to sell your toys because it sounds to me like you can't have to many friends to help you out. IMHO!

Well i see it a little different. His friend wanted to sell a nice 5th wheel and he bought it.I wonder what would of happened if he hadn't wanted it ?,would his friend get the same amoumt of money or have to take a loss ?.
It sounds like both partys agreed on the price or his friend said he would like a certain amount for it and butkus21 decided he wanted it.Did it happen this way ?,i don't know and really it's none of my business but it seems both partys are happy and are probably still good friends.
Congrats on your coach.

Weather you got a heck of a deal, or you were badly taken, is in direct proportions to the value that you place on money.

Apparently I need clarify that our "friends" approached us on purchasing the MS, they had a price in mind and we bought for that price - no negotiating. Everyone walked away happy and we're still friends.
The phrase "helping out the economy" was simply in jest, tongue in cheek if you will. We currently own 3 fifth wheels and 3 tow vehicles and while that is probably insignificant in terms of helping the economy, you can't say we're not trying, lol!
I appreciate the positive comments and best wishes from most of you. I will try to post some pics as soon as I locate the camera....I hate moving, lol!!

Appreciate the FULL story butkus21.
Amazing how some people can attribute negative connotations to something about which they don't have the facts.
I hope everyone can now congratulate both parties.
