Well darn, no luck in getting pic's into message. Try the URL above to see the Trac Bar install.

Nice job! Watch for signs of twisting stress in the bottom plate between the rear U-bolts bolts and the vertical plate.

mapguy,
Thanks for the link. I'm not very puter savy.

sum1,
The only part I had to change was the tactor top link locking tab. It kept coming loose. I took it off and put on 2 jam nuts, So far they have stayed tight. I do keep an eye on the trac bar to avert any problems.

That looks great. I've sometimes wondered if a track-bar would be beneficial on my TT.
Where did you get the bar itself and how much was it?

ScottG,

purplekeenah has it right, Got mine at a John Deere store. The top links come in different lengths. After the brackets are installed then measure the distance.

I have a P30 but really do not know what issues the Trac Bar are addressing?

Because we need moving suspension for a smoother ride and more constant tire contact, we also have movement of the parts in directions that are not desirable. In this case, the rear axle not only moves up and down, but it can also shift side to side to varying degrees. Track Bars limit this movement and reduce the drifting and tailwagging this movement can cause. Some need track bars, some don't. Some drivers are OK with a bit of movement, some won't tolerate it.

Thanks sum1. Ours has the very heavy sway bar on the rear and loaded is only 14,000 lbs. With the 208" wheel base and 32' our overhang is less then many that I see. If we were towing in might be a different story. Coming back from Nashville several weeks ago I came up on a short DP towing a small Ford van and it was running from side to side all of the time and I expect the driver was trying to correct for it or may be inducing it to some degree. I would not have driven the rig.
