There are all kinds... I once ran into a campground near Greeley, CO where the owner was badmouthing my TT and initially was not going to let us stay. Since it was the only camground in or near Greeley,(and we had come 1K miles to visit some relatives), I kept my cool and talked the owner into taking my money. The offending TT? A two year old 31' Airstream towed by a one year old F-250 SC. He thought AS were too snooty.... oi. I heard that the tornado that ripped through CO the other day skirted Greeley and took out "a" campground. I'll always wonder.
We were camping at Lake Cachuma in California, in our then new Jayco 5er. My Dad drove up and camped with us is his pristine 1976 Lazy Daze Class C. I was proud of Dad and his old Lazy Daze, I always thought it was a beautiful, gleaming RV...respendant in a creamy white paint job with a wide orange stripe all of the way around, in true '70's style.
Later in the day a huge new class A megabuck monster pulled up, the owner and his designer wife got out to look at the space next to my Dad's RV, and literally sneered at my Dad and his rig! They finally decided on a space several sites away. The Ranger came by a bit later, and praised my Dad for his clean classic RV, and told us that the snooty couple complained to him about my Dad's Lazy Daze! The ranger merely told the folks to find another space.
That was pathetic! My Dad of course, smiled and had not a bad thing to say, sitting in the shade by his old faithful LD!
Had one park that would put 10 year old an newer campers in one section, is all we have seen in our 20 plus years of camping. We have friends with new diesel pushers, an 30 year old TT, and everything in between, it is not your rig that makes you a desirable person.
2003 Jayco 308fbs eagle 33' tt, towed by a 2003 Ram 3500 slt, quad cab dually, cummins diesel ho, trailer towing package, with 6 speed manual. Hauls better 1/2, 3 kids, myself, and a 2003 ez go clays car.. I have added so far, neon lights, clearance lights, back up lights, black light, lift kit, mud tires, and everything necessary to make the golf cart street legal. It's now ready to spend the winter in the garage for more mods. More neon, strobe lights, alarm, a pa system, maintance, and whatever else that comes along. This golf cart does wheelies and travels thru 7 inches of mud when need be. Two honda eu2000i gens twinned to supply the electrical power. Latest addition an 04 Honda Goldwing. Millionaire acers is not for us. We prefer campgrounds with medium size sites and where everything is in walking distance. We like people and meeting them. These new camp grounds or big expansions to some of the existing ones, where you need a golf cart to get around, seem cold and unfriendly to us.
Just the other day we were at a friend's house at a pool party. One of their neighbor's asked us where we lived. I told him just down the street. We are the one with a cedar fence along a busy road in our 'burb. I also told him that we had a 1977 motorhome sitting next to our house. He thought that I was saying that our neighbor had the motorhome, and made a 'snobby' face and some stupid comment. I smiled and said, "It is our motorhome and we love it."
He promptly took his foot out of his mouth and he and his wife and kids left soon after. My wife and I just laughed it off. No harm no foul. Love that Eleanor Roosevelt quote.
Another time my son, then 8, and I were outside talking about what we needed to do to the moho and I said that I was going to paint the rear bumper. He said, "No Dad, if you get rid of the rust spots then no one will be able to tell it is "vintage!" I laughed and said, "You're right, Nick. We'll leave it so people can tell" Got to love the honesty of an 8 year-old.
Our beautiful (to us at least) Moho will keep its rust spots on the bumper... It may be a bit rusty, but we keep it clean. Just like our house.... it may be a bit messy and not as picked up as I would like, but it is clean.

My response has always been mine are always paid for in cash where theirs are most often financed, plus we stay in campgrounds so seldom that it just ain't a problem.

If they refuse me now I can remember to refuse to use or pay them later when they "need" my cash.
