trying to keep the carpet clean is becoming to much of a job..I think it would also increase the selling value down the road...
thanks
Yup, I have advantage (no slide) so just cut out all of the carpet. I took out couch, trim etc and removed old carpet+thousands of staples and old padding (it was cheap thin******). Put down pad and laminate flooring front from doghouse raised section to the back. Made the floor 'float', no staples or glue needed. Replaced the carpet on the doghouse and front area, only takes a few minutes to clean now. No more dirty carpet , just three throw rugs easy to clean/wash.
Pergo is not water proof, and it is not heat-proof either. A RV floor can get hot enough to cause the ends of each 'board' to push against each other and pop up, or warp. They do not return to normal length when it is cool.
Moisture causes swelling and raised spots in Pergo floors. I am talking about a normal kitchen spill or a toilet overflow... which WILL happen sooner or later.
I bought mine with pergo on the floor. My wife likes it because it's easy to clean. I hate it. It's cold in the winter, acts like a refrigeration plate. And it has buckled due to a water flood when the filtered water line blew. Plus all that brown on the floor and walls is a bit claustrophobic for me. I'd like to get rid of it but my wife won't let me.
