We keep ours full because we live in South Central FL and have a well at the house. Came in very handy after Hurricane Charlie and we were without power for 11 days. We also put 180 plus hours on the genset. Closest potable water point other than bottled water was about 40 miles away. A hot shower, sleeping in AC and satellite TV was very comfortable compared to the way non motorhome owners in our area were living.

We have a 100 gal. tank and it is usually at least 3/4 full. We have been in a couple of situations while traveling with others when there is a breakdown in the group, something happens or a detour has caused us to delay our arrival at our destination. Sometimes even a last minute sight seeing sidetrip that we decided to take at the last second and stop and have a sandwich or something and it is nice to still have all the necessities when needed. Our rig is so heavy a couple hundred extra pounds really isn't going to make much difference. Mike.

We always leave full as we tend to not camp at places with full hookups. I have experiemented with traveling full vs empty and have no differences with mileage or handling.

We sometimes overnight at a Walmart or Flying J, but rarely more than one night. So, I try to carry enough water for two days on the road and one overnight. I fill the 90 gallon tank until the first light on the gauge lights up. I figure that is about 30 gallons. I think it is more than I need and would like to carry less, but I don't have a way to measure smaller amounts.

Almost always travel with it full. The water quality at my home is much better than where I camp. If I'm only going on an overnighter I'll only go half full. I do flush and fill the night before each trip. When at the house I keep it full.

Depends on when, and where I'm going

Leaving Detroit in January.. I carry six gallons.. In a jerry can, INSIDE the coach (Primary tank empty)

Going boondocking I carry a full (80 gallon) tank plus the plastic jerry can

Normal trips, around 5-10 gallons for immed use if I have to pull off and change seats for a bit

Typically I fill up totally..or mighty close to it. 850 lbs difference in weight doesnt matter jack squat in the big scheme of things

I have a 100 gal tank and usually fill it with 30-35 gal. for traveling. Only if going somewhere that does not have water hookups would I completely fill it.

I always fill all the way up. I also contend my rig needs the weight and drives better with full water.
