Hi Guys! I checked back several times to see if the photos were posted. Just as I thought. By the way my dually Duramax handles my Citation with ease although it is not as heavy as a 10'8". It is stout (and was built before 2006 with no structural problems)Off to Alaska on the 11th! This will be the third trip up in our Citation( once before with our old Weekender)

It's not a commercial venture, just a group of TC'ers getting together for a trip to the central BC coast. So far there are about 6 of us. We leave from Kelowna on Labor day, up to Kamloops, then up Hwy 5 to Wells Gray park to see Helmeken Falls (one of North America's highest), across Hwy 24, up to Barkerville, then across to Bella Coola & back.

I think he already opted for choice #2 (which is also fine with me).

My 10'8 Citation tips the scales at 3500lb dry.So over 4000lb when loaded.

Gary..mileage I get between 10-13 loaded and anywhere between 17-22 empty...22 would be on a flat stretch with cruise set at 100km/hr and a stiff wind at my back

I think mine is about the same.

I have been down to Bella Coola. I camped at Hagensburg, a campsite on the left hand side of the highway, I believe it's called "Gnomes Campsite" or something.
The "Hill" is an experience, specially when it's wet and it was wet when we went down.
Wait till you meet a big highway truck when you are going down and he's coming up the hill, he has the right away and be prepared for some fun if it's on a single lane part of the "Hill".
The tow truck owner in Nimpo Lake makes his living for 80% pulling vehicles off the hill with transmission troubles. Don't buy diesel at Anahim Lake, which is the last pump before you go down, they charge an arm and a leg. LAST year spring (2007) I paid over 1.40/liter.
Might be 2.50 now.

My wife liked the hill, I didn't. She looked at the scenery, I looked at the road in front of me and my gauges and also kept an eye on cliffs and sharp corners, fcol.
The scenery is fantastic but being the driver you will not see much of it.
At the bottom we saw two bears.

Read about it here: http://www.bcadventure.com/adventure/travelogs/discovery/discovery.htm

I considered taking the ferry to Vancouver Island but after I saw the ferry, which takes you to a REAL ferry on an island further up in the arm, I decided to go back up the hill.
The hill diodn't look bad anymore after a saw the ferry.

There's not much in Bella Coola, unless you'r into fishing.
You could go up some gravel roads up the mountains but with a camper I wouldn't do it.
You need to go in 4x4.

Been in Barkerville several times, make sure to take the to Bowron Lake and Beckers Lodge. That's very nice and worthwhile.

I had my Citation 9-6 on a SRW 2500 Dodge before trading up to a 3500 dually. Quite a difference for the better (more tires on the ground), The 10-8 weighs a little more, but Citations are a bit on the heavy side (2" walls, double pane glass). I doubt your Jimmy would have any kind of problem with the 10-8. Ours has been a great camper. I would most definitily buy another (the 1050, if I can talk DW out of a fiver-wish me luck).

3+tons:
As per my sig we run a Citation 5'er and we are very pleased with it. It's 27'5 feet overall and when loaded for a trip is just under 11K lbs. Our Dmax (re,sig) handles it just fine and mileage runs on average 14.5 MPIG. Our 2003 Citation Supreme is a great unit and the newer models are even better...............

My assumption is that Jason doesn't want to come back to the forum after everybody jumped all over him. Maybe you didn't jump all over him but my guess is that is the way he feels.

I go back and get some popcorn and watch the kids play.

You're certainly entitled to your opinion, but it wasn't my impression that people jumped on him all that much until he pretty much blew off everyone who had tried to help him.

In hindsight, the whole thread was a bit bizarre in tone and presentation IMO, and it sure seemed like Jason was being somewhat evasive and less than explanatory about the issues he was apparently facing (irrespective of the photos thing).

If he was a genuine poster who was having real problems, and he eventually got his issues taken care of by the factory, I guess that's the main thing that counts.

He certainly drew a lot of attention to Citation Campers.
In the end Citation won in my opinion.
I never looked at one before and because of this thread I had a good look and decided it's gonna be my next camper with a slideout. :-)
