An RV tech was telling me about a product that looks like "sawdust" that you sprinkle around your tires. Keeps ants from entering into your RV. He said it works like a charm---but couldn't remember the name. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance

ant and grub granules look like sawdust, can get at any home depot / gardening store.

Have to lightly water in.

He may have been talking about Diatomaceous Earth. I have heard that ants will not cross it, as it's sharp edges irritate their bodies.
It is used in some swimming pool filters, so I would think a store handling these supplies would handle it.

Yep...Diatomaceous Earth. It's biodegradeable, earth friendly and non toxic to people and animals, but it makes ants and other insects grind to a halt, by getting into the chinks in their body "armor" and stopping the flexing...thus they just can't move!

You can get small quantities of it, in more portable containers, at Home Depot, Lowe's store in the insecticide dept. I have seen it there. I have a 50# bag that a friend gave me, they bought it for their pool filter.

It's fun to find a fire ant opening and sprinkle some D-earth around it in a one foot circle..........some try to cross it and get "locked-up" and the others go crazy looking for a way out

If you are going to use DE make sure it is for horticultural use. The DE that you get for swimming pool filters will not work.

DE is fossilized micro organisms.....mined out of the earth. Not sure what they ad to it for the horticultural use but swimming pool DE is a more pure form. Been in the pool industry for 19 years.....use it in the garden all the time. Yes, ants don't like it....gets the fleas too.
