I'd pretty much guarentee it is an S&S. The logo is right along with everything else visible to match my 2001. On top of that it is in Montana where S&S is king, and Billings, where I think there is an S&S dealer (I realize they are from Lander Wyoming (S&S dealer in Casper), but also they have family in both Broadus and Libby.)

I can see hitting something a few inches or even a foot, but good grief, that underpass was only 8 feet! I don't see how you could miss that one.

Those aren't happijac tie downs. Some kind of cheap knock off. Note the shape of the ears and the use of Eye loops on the rear bumper.

THX JoeCO for confirming they aren't HJ's. Did you notice how bent up in the air it is...must have torn the heck out of the bed wall forward. I wonder if it had been HJ's if the bed would still be on the truck? Something to think about!!!! :>) This is scary! Capt PJ

I fail to understand how someone could do this unless they simply forgot that the camper was even there.
I watch for low hanging tree limbs when hauling the TC, I dare say I would take note of a warning sign for low clearance.
Stupid is as Stupid does.
Of course I once witnessed someone drive thru a practically empty parking lot and hit a huge concrete base for a light pole square on.
So I guess nothing should suprise me.

ha! To add insult to injury, the guy might have gotten a ticket on top of it! Littering?

Nope, not littering, in Montana the "catch-all" is "Failure to drive in a careful and prudent manner".
Oh, and he will probably have to pay Montana Rail-Link for any damage to the bridge, and maybe the City for damage to the sign. and any clean-up costs.

Years ago I was in a town in OR and stopped near a low bridge to get ice cream. Along comes a box van loaded with fiberglass insulation. The bridge took the top third of the box off and there was a huge pink cloud. Looked like the truck had hit a flock of pink flamingos.
